Sporting In-Display Fingerprint Sensor, Vivo X20 Plus UD Introduced In China
Previously this month Vivo, the Chinese smartphone manufacturer, displayed its handset with in-display fingerprint sensor in Las Vegas at CES 2018 in US. At the time of the revealing it was posted that Vivo X20 Plus UD will be the initial handset to come with this function. Now, the firm has lastly rolled out the handset of Vivo X20 Plus UD in China with in-display fingerprint sensor. The firm has not yet unveiled any data related to the availability and price of the handset.
The Vivo X20 Plus UD has in-screen fingerprint Synaptics Clear ID 9500 sensor. The fingerprint sensor is positioned between the OLED screen and the mainboard. During the launch Synaptics claimed that the optical in-display ID FS9500 fingerprint sensor operates well on wet, dry, and cold fingers. It is also claimed to be waterproof and scratch proof since it is coated with a glass.
In terms of specs, the Vivo X20 Plus UD sports a full 6.43-inch HD+ screen with a pixel resolution of 1080 x 2160 and an aspect ratio of 18:9. The handset operates on Android 7.1 Nougat OS and is fueled by Snapdragon 660 processor from Qualcomm.
The smartphone has 128 GB of internal memory and 4 GB of RAM. Consumers can additionally extend the memory up to 256 GB by inserting a microSD card. The dual SIM handset is equipped with a setup of dual rear camera. The Vivo X20 Plus UD features a 5 MP and 16 MP modules at the back end in addition to the LED flash. For the selfie fans, there is also a 12 MP front camera with LED flash. The handset is supported by a battery worth 3800mAh capacity and provides VoLTE, 4G, Wi-Fi, 3G, GPS, and Bluetooth as connectivity alternatives.
