Hyundai Santro Is Undergoing Winter Test In Europe
While we are awaiting the launch of the next-gen Hyundai Santro, which will be showcased in Auto Expo 2018 followed the launch in India, is going through winter testing in Europe as seen from the spy shots. Once the most sold car until 2015, Santro is getting revived and we expect to see the new version sooner as the car has been already spotted in its testing phase in the country quite a number of times.
From the spy shots, what we see is a resemblance to a larger Grand i10 with a trapezoidal grille, which is nowadays quite a common in most cars.
The new version of Hyundai Santro has a really tall roof, which provides good amount of headroom and the large front and rear doors. The lower model is supposed to have complete wheel cover on steel wheels while the upper one will have alloy wheels. The top model will also have a touchscreen infotainment with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity. This is sure to give a huge competition to the rest! When Santro was first launched in 1997, it gave a tough fight to Maruti 800 and Tata Indica. Santro is the only car that helped Hyundai to reach the 1st millionth car in 2007!
The spy shots also provide glimpse to the high fog lamps and there is no DLR. As far as the engine capacity is concerned, the new Hyundai Santro will possess 0.8 liter and 1 liter engine options whereas transmission duties will be carried out via 5-Speed Manual Transmission or an AMT.
This new and advanced version of Hyundai Santro, as seen from the spy shots is sure to give a tough competition as well as shift customers’ preferences from Tata Tiago, Maruti Suzuki Celerio and even the Renault Kwid not only due to its advanced features but also the low price around 3.2 lakhs.
