You can now freely upgrade your Windows 10 S to Windows 10 Pro
Microsoft is currently on the lookout for technologies so as to outdo its rival Google. Google’s Chrome OS is being used in larger numbers among the public. Currently, Microsoft had introduced the “Windows 10 S operating system” for the education purpose this year. In addition to the new operating system, a new Surface Laptop was also released, which has the Windows 10 S operating system already installed with some other features.
As the new system is connected to the Windows Store, it means that the various apps can only be downloaded from the Store so that it can work on the operating system. Due to the limitation caused by the tie, the company has decided on providing an option of upgrading the system to Windows 10 Pro that too for free for all the Windows 10 S users. However, there is a time limit for the free upgradation and it is until the end of 2017. Looking at the need among the people, especially students, Microsoft has decided to extend the date of Windows 10 S to Windows 10 Pro free upgradation up to March 31, 2018.
The Surface Laptop is currently going to be made available in additional 20 countries that too with different color choices. Thus, keeping this in mind the company has planned to strategize and extend its upgradation date. For people who have to access other applications that have not yet been made available on the Store then the option of upgrading the operating system is a very good option. The provision of flexibility for the users is like a chance to go back-to-school.
The extension of the deadline has been declared as Microsoft still have to fulfill the features including the launch of major apps and Windows Store version of iTunes to the Windows Store. Previously, the company had declared that its users will have to spend about Rs 3100 for upgrading after December 31, 2017. But, the plan seems to have been changed by the company.
Windows 10 S has been built basically keeping in mind that the students have to be prohibited from exposure to dangerous or inappropriate apps and Microsoft provides only the apps that are certified by the company. Lately, even Edge browser and Office 365 are planning to add in more school-friendly features in the coming years.
There are a number of Acer, Dell, HP, Toshiba, Fujitsu, Asus, and Samsung laptops that are offering the pre-installed version of Windows 10 S so as to focus more on the educational needs of the students.
