Ambedkar Grandson Warns Against Religion Politics
On Friday, Dalit leader, Mr. Prakash Ambedkar stated that if politics of religion is not patterned, it could upsurge to so called Hafiz Saeed among the Hindus. Mr. Prakash Ambedkar, the grandson of BR Ambedkar, made theseremarks while he was addressing a function which was organized by Akhil Bharatiya Mahatma Phule Samta Parishad in Bhopal. He further compared the religion-based politics to Hitler’s rule.
Mr. Prakash Ambedkar further said that the politics of religion can become irrepressible if it is not checked at the root level and it can give rise to many Hafiz Saeeds (stating to the Pakistan based co-founder of terror outfit Lashkar-e-Taiba) among the Hindus.
Mr. Prakash further said at the program organized to mark the birth anniversary of former Satna MP, late Sukhlal Kushwaha that this new directive that is coming into existence, in the name of religion is similar to Hitler-shahii, i.e. Hitler’s rule. He was referring to the recent violence in Maharashtra over the 200th bicentenary celebrations of the battle of Bhima-Koregaon. Prakash Ambedkar had afterward called for a bandh, which brought life in Mumbai and elsewhere in the state to a standstill said that people belonging to Hindutva organizations confronted those from the backward classes.
He also said that they are demanding that the Maharashtra government must arrest those who were involved as it is the government’s responsibility to act and if it is not checked instantly, the violence against Dalits may spread to the other states. He also commended the backward class communities to identify their electoral strength and vote only for backward class so that they could control the wheels of power.
Ambedkar said that if BJP-led government comes to power again at the center, even the right to speak will be taken away. Thus, fight to save this right and the constitution.
